What Custom Actually Means
Measured, built, and fitted to the inch.
Custom means the cabinet run ends exactly at the wall, not eight inches short with a filler strip. It means uppers that go to the ceiling because we built them for your ceiling, built-in surrounds that make your refrigerator look like furniture, and corner solutions that use the corner instead of losing it. Every box is built from quality plywood, not particleboard; every door and drawer closes itself softly because the hardware is right.
Materials
Maple, plywood, and hardware we'd put in our own house.
We build in maple and good plywood because they hold screws, survive humidity swings, and take finish beautifully. Doors come in the styles Metro Detroit actually wants: shaker, raised panel, slab, glass-front display. Finishes are stain or paint, your call. And everything closes on soft-close hinges and glides, because a kitchen you use fifty times a day shouldn't slam.

Yes, and the difference is in what you can't see: maple and quality plywood boxes instead of particleboard, joinery that holds screws for decades, and soft-close hardware throughout. Big-box cabinets are built to a price point. Ours are built to your kitchen.
Can you build around appliances and odd spaces?
That's the point of custom. Built-in refrigerator surrounds, wall ovens, microwave shelves, cabinets scribed to out-of-square walls, and corner solutions that actually use the corner. If your kitchen has a weird spot, that's usually where custom work shines most.
How much do custom cabinets cost compared to a showroom?
Usually less than you've been quoted, because there's no showroom or sales commission in our price. Bring us any written competitor quote for comparable materials and we will beat it.
